Kaukaloistenkallio Shelter
Architect Manu Humppi
Location Kintulammi nature reserve, Tampere
Gross Area 8 m2
Completion 2018
The shelter is located on the shore of a bog lake called Kaukaloinen, at the top of a rock face. There has been a designated campfire for hikers on the site even before the trail network was built. The shelter is for overnight use. The rugged shelter is clad on the inside with untreated fine-sawn boards. The roof covering is bitumen felt. The foundation is made of natural stone boulders found on the site, and the load-bearing wooden parts from the logs of an old sauna.
